How to lose one’s credibility with a single sentence

Speaking about her studio’s remake of the excellent film adaptation of Let The Right One In, Donna Gigliotti had this to say to, I dunno, attempt to justify the creative bankruptcy of “Hammer Films”.

“We’re incredibly admiring of the original, but to be honest with you, that picture grossed $2 million. It’s not like we’re remaking Lawrence of Arabia.”

Jumping the shark doesn’t even come close to covering it, does it?

Thanks to Tom Seymour’s humorous and painfully insightful blog over at Little White Lies: http://www.littlewhitelies.co.uk/blog/letting-the-right-one-in/

He’s right about Cloverfield as well, you know!
